  • ...and so i told myself,
    "such words could only kill.
and though my voice is soft,
    their edges would cut deep."

    and so i kept it shut;
    my breaths reserved for breathing.
    i learned my lessons well-
    the reason you're not bleeding.

  • never forget the rain,
    that time the river spoke
as all the cries of pain
    were drowned as  levees broke.

  • the sun sets low against the hills
    still bouyant on the waning tide;
a wind that shivers flesh and bone,
a warming light leaves a trace,
    and then an empty hole-
no melodies to fill the void.
    just sad remorse
    and shaking limbs.
    all brace against the cold.

  • life goes on
    life goes on
    why do you linger on
    while everybody lives their lives
    without a moment lost?

  • within her belly rests
the sum of all the joys
    and whether girl or boy
    it matters not to me.

    and so, i won't confess
    to aching, tender joints
for whom i do these toils-
    they matter most to me.

  • i hold you in the starlit world.
    the moon, in jealousy,
hides her face behind a cloud
    of sad uncertainty.
soft words escape the silence here
and in their wake, a sigh
    embraces all; a clarion
    that ushers in the night.
"farewell, sweet love, I leave you now
    upon this ocean shore
    never to return again
    to hold you evermore."
the parting of our ways- akin
    to cleaving of the stone,
    so painfully these circumstances
    make us drift alone.
    "goodbye."

  • the road that's never travelled's never marked
    with guiding prints that lead from near to far;
its distances are daunting in the dark
unless accompanied right from the start.

  • last night, i went on eBay to check out the last-minute auctions for PS3s.  while finishing my telephone convo with my fiance, i clicked here, i clicked there and wound up winning a 60 gig PS3 for a fraction of the going rate.  i guess the market's deflating.  in anyway event, it should be here on Wednesday.  i haven't felt this good during the holidays since i was kid.  and meanwhile, in Africa, people are dying in Darfur.  go figure.

  • sibling rivalry

"grind it, sisters! grind it harder!"
    border the obscene!
it's good you're wearing jeans, my lovelies,
    else we'd make a scene.

as sisters go, they went to town
    and went they did, indeed-
the elder one so close at hand,
    the younger on my knee.

  • last night at bestbuy (broadway, manhattan)

the rain  is relentless on the huddled crowd.  though meant to sober them up, it is to no effect at all.  they sleep in tents and sit in lawn chairs waiting for release from reality, or to make a quick buck.  creeks and squeeks fill the air, the shifting of numb rear-ends.  but these refugees don't care.  behold your sisters, your brothers!  a sad lot indeed.
